FIRST EDITION, first printing. Octavo (23 x 16cm), pp.xiv; 4509; [2]. Publisher's green cloth ornately blocked in gilt, black and light green to spine and upper, top edge gilt, green endpapers. Four colour and twenty monochrome plates. 

Light spotting to edges, first and last few leaves, and around plates, slight loss to margin of page 363 where the book was not very neatly cut. Binding lightly handled but bright and unblemished, small tear to head of spine. A fresher copy than usually found. Near fine.
