LEAR, Edward (18121888), [DAVIDSON, Angus & HOFER, Philip, editors and introduction].

Teapots and Quails And Other New Nonsense.

London: John Murray, 1953.

FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (26 x 18cm), pp. 63; [1]. Publisher's printed paper covered boards, dust-jacket featuring the same design, with printed price of 12s. 6d. net to front flap.

Ownership of John Murray (a relative of the publisher?) to verso of flyleaf, booksellers ticket to rear pastedown. Some spotting to edges and endpapers. Covers show very well with just some slight marking. Dust-jacket toned and spotted, some chipping to top edge. Very good.

A hitherto unpublished collection of Lear, produced from manuscripts and drawings held at the Houghton Library at Harvard University.
