FLEMING, Ian (1908-1964).

Live and Let Die.

London: Jonathan Cape, 1958.

FIRST REISSUE EDITION, fourth printing overall. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.240. Publisher's black cloth over boards, gilt coin motif to upper boar, gilt titles to spine. Dust-jacket devised by the author and executed by Kenneth Lewis, with printed price of 13s. 6d. net to front flap.

Generally internally fine with just the occasional mark, some toning and spotting to edges and endpapers, small dent to fore edge. Binding shows a very faint watermark to lower half, gilt to spine a little dulled. Dust-jacket marginally faded to spine, dust-jacket water marked and slightly rippled to lower half, some small tears and chipping to extremities, but overall shows well. Very good.

The fourth printing of the second James Bond novel, issued four years after the first edition. The rarest of the Jonathan Cape printings with just 961 copies produced.
