INSCRIBED FIRST EDITION. Octavo (25 x 20cm). Nine monthly issues of The Scottish Girl, the Official Organ of the Scottish Girls' Friendly Society, from April through to December 1941. All bound up in plain dark blue cloth, gilt titles to spine. Warmly inscribed by the author to a Mrs Wells to flyleaf.

Inexpensive paper browned, some spotting to endpapers and edges. Light wear to the binding. Scarce. Very good.

A short story entitled The Dark Star serialised in nine issues of The Scottish Girl. The author Isobel Hutchison led an enviable life as an Arctic traveller, filmmaker, author, and botanist.
