FINELY BOUND. Duodecimo (18 x 11cm), pp. xxiv; 180. Later tree calf binding, gilt border to boards, gilt to board edges, gilt titles on a green morocco square to spine, raised bands, extra gilt. Mid blue endpapers, marbled edges. Four plates drawn by Dodd and engraved by T. Cook serving each season. Bookplate of Walter G.B. Nicholls to front pastedown.

Generally clean internally with just some occasional light spotting, more so to plates and abutting pages. Some surface loss to pages 48/49 affecting a handful of words. Binding lightly worn to corners, two chips to spine. Fine.

A beautiful copy of Thomson's influential series of poems first published complete in 1730.
