Publisher's dark brown blind stamped cloth, gilt titles to spine, red coated endpapers, binder's ticket to rear pastedown. Inscribed by the author to the title page: "Dr Charles.....Fowler | with his uncles love | Buckhill | 1893".

Generally clean internally with just some slight spotting to first and last leaves. Binding heavily rubbed to corners and spine ends with some loss, sunned to spine. Uncommon. Very good.
