FIRST EDITION, first printing. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.184. Publisher's green cloth, titles in black to spine. Striking dust-jacket designed by Denis McLoughlin, with printed price of 7/6 to front flap. Undated but published in 1948.

Textblock toned with some spotting to edges, a few small marks to cloth. Dust-jacket shows very well with just some slight wear to edges and a crumpled closed tear to the top left of the upper panel (with old tape reinforcement to reverse). An attractive copy. Very good.

Later filmed as The Accused, starring Loretta Young, Robert Cummings and Wendell Corey.
